Photostudy and sketch

Below are two photostudies I liked. I try to remind myself it's not about copying what I see, but rather trying to capture what I see in my own style or method. These two were one of the few that I thought were succesful. Next to it you see a black and white speedpaint and further below some gelpen sketches I scanned from my sketchbook.

About me

I am a concept artist and digital illustrator from the Netherlands. My passion is creating locations that set the stage for a story. As a young child I was often inspired by going on long hikes through the mountains of Austria with my parents and staying at the beach during summer holidays.

I was brought up with Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, cartoons, playing outside, toy cars and painting miniature models for a hobby. I also had a obsession for drawing lighthouses.

Many years later I transformed my creativity, love for nature, films, games and vehicles into a professional business.

Today I constantly observe the world around me and let nature still inspire me to paint scenes from my home country. I hope to one day incorporate my personal work into a professinal project for the game- or movie industry.
